Section 1
Phone Plan Basics
A phone plan helps you call, text, and use data. Some plans are prepaid, and some are monthly contracts. Prepaid can be easier if you want more control over spending.
Before choosing a plan, ask how much data you get, what happens if you use too much data, and if there are setup or cancellation fees.
Do not sign something you do not understand. Ask for the full price after tax.
Section 2
Avoid Surprise Bills
Data, roaming, long-distance calls, and extra services can add costs. Turn off roaming if you are travelling. Use Wi-Fi when possible.
The Wireless Code gives people in Canada rights for mobile phone services. It can help you understand contracts, changes, and cancellation rules.
If a deal sounds too good, slow down and compare it with other providers.
